In my twenty-five years in the mental health field I have worked in a range of clinical settings, with a diversity of
challenges, and have been influenced along the way by a variety of philosophies, approaches, and creative teachers who have
each contributed to my development.
My training includes a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology and a M.S. in Human Development/Human
Sexuality from Indiana University (Bloomington, IN) where I concentrated in the areas of personality development, research
methodology, clinical psychology, and sexual identity (through the Kinsey Institute). Since establishing a private practice
in Philadelphia, I have completed training in psychoanalysis through the Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia and
have maintained an active interest in psychoanalytically-related themes in understanding of personality. I
have additional extensive additional training in cognitive-behavioral treatment approaches, marital therapy, personality assessment,
and the application of mindfulness and holistic approaches.
